I am looking to buy a set of tires from Tire Rack. They quoted me $17.95 per tire for M & B at their suggested location. My local specialty shop that handles high end cars and I trust not to mess up a rim, wants $20 for mounting and $15 for balancing. That is an additinal $140 over the price of the tires. They also offered an aditional service for $12/tire. This involves spinning the tire on the car to verify/correct the balancing. Has anyone had this done to their Z? Is it worth the extra $24 (no need to do the rear, I guess). My car has a set of yet uncurbed SSR GT-1s that I asolutely love. They are open, forged and quite light. I do not want any damge to come to them during tire replacement.
